Last year, at the 2022 Storymakers Conference, I had the enjoyable opportunity to be tablemates with Joani Elliott during the mass book signing event. We shared a few author/life parallels and quickly became fast friends.

Joani Elliott grew up near the mountains of Salt Lake City with six sisters and two brothers. This means she is very good at sharing bathrooms and can apply her make-up using the kitchen toaster as a mirror. This also means that sometimes one eye looks larger than the other, but no one seems to mind. Joani has taught writing at the University of Maryland and Brigham Young University. She and her husband are the parents of two daughters who, for the record, swear they will never finish their dead mother’s book.
